About The Irish Lotto is an Irish National lottery. It is governed by the National Lottery Corporation. Format Irish Lotto requires a player to make 1 choice: (1) Pick 6 numbers out of a set of 45 white balls. If the player picks the same numbers as those that are drawn in the next drawing, the player wins the Jackpot prize. Smaller prizes are awarded for other combinations. A bonus ball is also selected. This is used for awarding alternate prizes. Class Irish Lotto is a Mini Lottery. We classify it as such because its Jackpot Parity is slightly less than €10 million. Prizes The minimum Irish Lotto jackpot prize is a €2,000,000; and, all other cash prizes are predefined as well. These are summarized in the table below. If no one wins the jackpot amount, a portion of the proceeds is rolled forward to the next drawing, allowing the jackpot to grow. All other prizes are established as a fixed amount, or as a pari-mutuel amount of an allocated percentage prize pool. Combinations In the Irish Lotto , there are a total of 8,145,060 combinations. Winners Of these, there are 194,130 winning combinations. This represents 2.38% of the combinations. The overall odds of having a winning combination is 41.96 to 1 (the lower the better) Losers There are 7,950,930 losing Irish Lotto combinations. This is 97.62% of the combinations. The overall odds of having a losing combination is 1.02 to 1 (the higher the better; because as this number gets closer to 1, nearly every ticket is a loser. Price Each Irish Lotto ticket costs €1.5, and a player must purchase an initial 2 for €3.0 Money Raised

Prize Pool Of this, €4,299,807 will be allocated to the prize pool to be paid back to the players when the jackpot is set to €2.0 million. This is determined in two ways. First, 52% of the money raised is determined. This amount is allocated to the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th place winning combinations. In addition to this, outright predetermined cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 7th place winning combinations are added. Average Winning Ticket Payout On the average, each winning ticket will pay €22.15 to the players. Since a ticket costs €1.5, the normalized payout per € spent is €14.77 Income Returned to Players Based on this information, €0.35 of each € raised will be returned to the players. Return Sensitivity If the Irish Lotto Jackpot changes by €1.0 million, the above Income Returned to Players will change by €0.0818 (up or down).
